The Drawing Center is pleased to feature Leopoldo Mazzoleni’s Aria, 2012, on our online gallery. Since 2011, Leopoldo Mazzoleni (born: 1953; Catania, Italy) has worked from a small black and white photograph of posed Italian soldiers from the 1950s to explore the personal and collective histories of each sitter. Part of a group of filmed interventions, Aria continues Mazzoleni’s exploration of identity to a soundtrack of drawing.
