In conjunction with the opening of Len Lye: Motion Sketch, The Drawing Center’s online gallery will feature the work of experimental filmmaker Jodie Mack (born 1983; London, UK). In A Joy, Mack employs direct animation–a technique by which the filmmaker draws directly on the film–to explore the relationship between graphic cinema and storytelling and the tension between form and meaning.
