In the final installment of work by Jessica Mein (b. 1975, Brazil) featured on the occasion of her solo exhibition at Simon Preston Gallery on view through December 23, is Blackout (2012), an animated film in which Mein depicts the encroaching power lines in Dubai through an intricate process of splicing, cutting, bending, and overlaying sheets of paper.
